Wild Men
The world was once filled with strange and dangerous peoples. When the Argonauts stopped off at Bear Island they were attacked by the local inhabitants, the Doliones. The attack was beaten off and Cyzicus, the king of the Doliones, was killed. Later in their voyage they came to the Land of the Bebryces. Amycus, their savage king, challenged all visitors to a boxing match, and he was so fearsome he always killed his opponent. However, he did not realise that Polydeuces, the champion boxer, was amongst the Argonauts. Polydeuces shattered Amycus’ skull, enraging the warlike Bebryces. They attacked the Argonauts, but were no match for the band of heroes.
